I actually know a person who drawing on themselves worked, not the butterfly method but just scribbles. They’d take a red pen and basically just pretend they were cutting, they draw with the red where they would cut and for them it helped.
There isn’t a magically end all cure for cutting it really depends on who you are, you can try to use the rubber band thing, where you snap one on your wrist instead of cutting. Exercise for some people works(if you have ED problems I wouldn’t suggest that one), writing, playing video games, listening to music, watching your favorite movie.
Just anything distracting, that’s the best method I’ve ever found. Find something that can be your distraction and when you feel that need just do that instead. It needs to either be something very physical(like working out) or something that makes you think a lot and about other things(like music, movies and writing)
It’s hard for me to tell you what would help you because I don’t know you, you just need to find a method and a pattern something you do when you feel that need, something the can change your thoughts and take them away from the cutting.
