Yeah, I really, really, really hate the “selfish” thing. That is a disgusting thing to say to a person in that state. I mean they already hate themselves enough they don’t need you helping them.
I personally think it’s extremely selfish to tell someone who’s suicidal they’re being selfish. That’s not how you help someone, that’s how you push them over the edge.
How do people not understand that?
