oliviaveracity asked: I think the problem is white people don't really understand white-washing and they feel as if it is the norm, they feel as if we are in a white world and to a certain extent we are, but the real world, the world that we live in is mixed. When reality sets in and it isn't all white everything they feel like something is wrong when in fact the case is actually reversed, something is wrong with them.

Anonymous asked: I consider myself to be Mexican because my mother and her entirely family is from Mexico, even though my father is white. I look REALLY white and there are people (including my own grandmother, who insists that I am white) who refuse to accept my race because I don't look like a stereotypical Mexican. Just because you look like one race, doesn't mean you are, so all this debate is kinda pointless.

That’s been the whole point of the debate to not assume that a race = specific physical features. I wasn’t saying all hispanic, black, white, etc look exactly this way i was saying that no race has a specific set of characteristics. That’s been the point. My point has been that it’s wrong for someone to instantly assume a persons race because they may be lighter or have green eyes or this or that or the other.
